Sending twitter messages from your ISatPhone Pro

Steve Wall - Friday, October 25, 2013
With the latest update to the ISatPhone pro you are able to update all your twitter followers from the middle of nowhere.

To do this you need to have updated your ISatPhone pro's firmware to the latest version 5.3.0. You will then need to sign up to twitter. The best way to do this is via SMS by following the following procedure.

  • Send a text message with the word START to your Twitter shortcode (898 for the Inmarsat system).
  •  - To send the message from the phone you need to register the phone on the satellite system and then go to:
Menu > Messaging > New Message > Tweet

  • Twitter will send you a reply and ask you to reply back with your full name to sign up.
  • Twitter will then send a message back to you and assign you a username based on your full name.
  • You're all set. Send a text message and it will post as your first Tweet!

To send the message from the phone you need to register the phone on the satellite system and then go to:
Menu > Messaging > New Message > Tweet

You can change your twitter settings using the normal SMS comands available through Twitter.

Please note that standard text messaging charges apply to twitter posts.
